What can you protect
with the same DIY kit?

Most people buy EnduroShield for shower glass — and stop there. But the same coating bonds to 22+ surfaces around your home. Here's the official list of what works, what doesn't, and the few cases where you need to call us first.

We get this question every week — "can I also use it on my mirror / bathroom tiles / kitchen splashback / car windscreen?" The short answer: yes to most, with a few notes.

One kit, many surfaces

If it's smooth and clean,
it's probably protectable.

EnduroShield bonds at the molecular level to non-porous, smooth surfaces. The same DIY kit you use on your shower screen will also work on the mirror, the splashback, and the glass railing — as long as the surface is clean before you start.

Surfaces that work

The "yes" list,
grouped by where they live.

Most are straightforward. A few have a small note — read those before you start.

Bathroom

Shower screen glass

The flagship use case. Tempered, laminated, low-iron, frameless — all work. The single most-requested application in Malaysia.

  • Tempered, laminated, annealed
  • Frameless / framed / sliding
  • Low-iron (ultra-clear) glass
Bathroom

Mirrors

Yes — but apply only to the front (silvered side stays untouched). Coated mirrors fog slightly faster but also clear faster, and wipe clean in seconds. Don't let the coating contact the silver backing.

  • Bathroom vanity mirrors
  • Wardrobe / wall mirrors
Kitchen

Splashbacks / back-splashes

Glass splashbacks behind the cooker take grease, oil, soy sauce, soap. Coating means a damp microfibre wipes them clean — no degreaser scrubbing.

  • Glass splashback panels
  • Ceramic / polished porcelain tiles
Bathroom · Kitchen

Tiles + grout

Ceramic and polished porcelain tiles work — the coating reduces grout staining and makes the whole wall easier to wipe down. Test on a small spot first if your tile has an unusual finish.

  • Wall + floor tiles
  • Grout lines
  • Vitreous china (sinks, toilets)
Indoor · Outdoor

Windows + glass roofing

Living-room windows, kitchen windows, skylights, conservatories, patio glass. The exterior side takes rain and dust; coating means rain self-cleans the glass.

  • Indoor + exterior windows
  • Skylights, awnings, canopies
  • Low-E coated glass (either side)
Bungalow · Outdoor

Glass railings + pool fencing

Frameless glass balustrades around balconies, staircases, pool surrounds. These take the most weather + handprints and are the hardest to clean — coating cuts maintenance dramatically.

  • Balcony / staircase balustrades
  • Pool / spa glass fencing
  • Glass facade panels
Vehicle

Car windscreen + windows

Yes — exterior side only (interior may fog). Front, rear, side glass, sunroof. Rain beads roll off above 60 km/h, fewer wiper passes needed. Skip the side mirrors unless they're heated.

  • Front + rear windscreen
  • Side glass + roof glass
Fittings

Stainless steel + nickel tapware

304 / 316 grade stainless. Bathroom and kitchen taps, shower frames, towel bars, brushed nickel finishes. Stops fingerprints and water spots from clinging.

  • Stainless 304 + 316
  • Brushed nickel tapware
  • Anodised aluminium frames
Hospitality

Hotel / Airbnb / homestay glass

If you run a stayhome property, every guest brings new water spots and fingerprints. Coating means housekeeping wipes down 80% faster — and your photos stay shoot-ready longer between turnovers.

The "no" list

What it can't bond to —
and why we'll tell you upfront.

EnduroShield needs a non-porous, non-painted surface. These materials are too rough, too oily, or too unstable for the coating to grip permanently.

Natural / engineered stone

Marble, granite, sandstone, travertine, limestone, quartz, Caesarstone, terrazzo. Too porous — the coating soaks in unevenly and looks patchy.

Painted / powder-coated metals

ColorBond, powder-coated aluminium gates, painted railings. Coating doesn't adhere to paint — it'll fail in months.

Plastics + acrylics

Perspex, polycarbonate, PVC, fibreglass, vinyl, melamine, polymers. Designed for inorganic surfaces — synthetics don't bond.

Concrete + brick

Too porous and rough. The product isn't formulated for these substrates.

Brass / copper / bronze (raw)

Unsealed "living" finishes patina over time — the coating can't keep up with the underlying chemistry.

Engine exhausts

Coating tops out at 220°C. Internal-combustion exhausts run 300–900°C. Don't try.

Reeded glass + sandblasted glass need a spray gun (not the DIY pad) — possible, but call us first. Dichroic / decorative coated glass needs a sample test before approval.

The optical promise

Two molecules thick.
You won't see it. You'll feel it.

Independent testing under ASTM D1003 — the industry standard for measuring glass clarity — found light transmittance at 89.55% before coating and 89.57% after. That's a +0.02% change, well below what the human eye can detect.

One rule, every surface

It only bonds to a clean surface.
That's the only rule that matters.

1

If your glass is brand new

Just-renovated, just-installed, fresh from the contractor. Wipe down with the kit's pre-cleaner, apply the coating. 5-minute job. This is the easiest, best-result scenario.

2

If the glass is already clean

You squeegee daily, no visible spots. Same — pre-cleaner, then coating. The coating will bond perfectly to a maintained surface.

3

If you're a stayhome / Airbnb host

Right after deep-cleaning between guests is the perfect window. Coat once, future turnovers take 80% less time on the bathroom.

If the glass already has heavy water-stain etching or hard-water buildup that won't come off with vinegar + Magic Eraser — that's a different problem. Polish first (or call a glass restoration service), then coat. Coating over damage just locks in the damage. WhatsApp us a photo if you're not sure.

Ready to coat more than just the shower?

One kit covers
the whole bathroom + more.

Standard kit covers up to 40 sqft. Family kit up to 120 sqft. Pro kit up to 340 sqft — enough for shower + windows + splashbacks + railings of a typical Bungalow.
