Glass Coating Malaysia: 6 Brands Compared (2026 Honest Guide)
Looking for the best shower screen coating — or the best water repellent coating for shower glass — in Malaysia? Here’s an honest 2026 comparison of the top brands.

Six glass coating brands you’ll find in Malaysia in 2026, compared on chemistry, lifespan, application, and price. EnduroShield (us), ClearShield, Diamon-Fusion, RainX Shower Door, Krudkutter, and generic Shopee silane sprays. I’ll be straight: not every product is right for every bathroom. Use this as a buyer guide, not a sales pitch.
If you’re shopping for a glass coating in Malaysia, you have more options than you probably realise. Some are commercial, some are DIY. Some last years, some last weeks. Pricing ranges from RM 25 to RM 700+ per shower.
I sell EnduroShield. I’ll be honest about where it fits and where other products are the right answer.
What is the best coating for shower glass?
The best coating for shower glass is a bonded, dual-action coating that repels both water and oils and is backed by independent third-party testing. Among the options you can buy in Malaysia, EnduroShield is the one certified by TÜV Rheinland (since 2011, Certipedia ID 0000033462), made to ISO 9001:2015, and tested to a simulated 10-year durability standard. It is available as a DIY kit from RM218, with a 3-year DIY warranty or a 10-year professional warranty.
The four coatings most people compare fall into very different classes. Judge the table on three things that actually matter over time: how long it lasts, whether an independent lab (not the maker) verified it, and whether it repels oil and soap as well as water.
| Coating | Type | Durability | Independent third-party certification | Hydrophobic + oleophobic | Warranty | Price band |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EnduroShield | DIY kit, professional option also available | Passed a simulated 10-year durability test. Up to 3 years (DIY), up to 10 years (professional) | Yes. TÜV Rheinland since 2011 (Certipedia ID 0000033462), ISO 9001:2015, Intertek building-glass testing | Both. Repels water and oils/soap | 3 years (DIY) / 10 years (professional) | From RM218 (DIY kit) |
| Rain-X | DIY spray, an automotive product | Formulated for automotive glass. On daily hot-water shower screens it typically needs frequent reapplication | None published | Hydrophobic (water-repellent). Not marketed as oleophobic | None specific to shower glass | Low |
| Diamon-Fusion | Mainly professional application by certified applicators | Bonded coating. Maker markets long-life professional performance | Manufacturer-backed, marketed for long-life professional performance | Hydrophobic, easy-clean | Markets long-life professional performance | Premium (professional service) |
| Generic nano spray | DIY spray, unbranded, varies | Varies widely, usually shorter-lived and inconsistent | Usually none published | Hydrophobic (varies). Oleophobic rarely specified | Usually none | Low to mid |
One honest note that applies to every coating above: none of them can reverse hard-water minerals already etched into the glass. If your glass is cloudy and will not wipe clear, that damage is permanent and needs professional polishing (from around RM500) or replacement. A coating is a prevention step, so it works best on glass that is still clear and new.

The six brands you’ll find in Malaysia

EnduroShield (what we sell, honest assessment)
What it is: Australian-made fluoropolymer-silica hybrid coating. TÜV Rheinland tested for a simulated 10-year lifecycle. ISO 9001 manufactured. 3-year DIY guarantee.
Best for: Newly-installed or recently-polished glass in main bathrooms used daily. Homeowners who don’t want a recurring monthly maintenance routine.
Not ideal for: Already-etched glass (won’t reverse damage). Rental properties where the next tenant may not maintain. People who want one-bottle-for-everything (it’s a kit with specific application steps).
Honest weakness: Prep matters. If you skip cleaning before application, the coating bonds to soap scum instead of glass. Application takes 30 minutes done right, not 5 minutes rushed.
ClearShield Professional
What it is: UK-origin fluoropolymer coating system. Sold mainly through certified installers in Malaysia.
Best for: Commercial projects (hotels, gym shower rooms) where one-time professional installation justifies the higher cost. 10-year warranty (commercial-grade).
Trade-offs vs EnduroShield: Longer warranty + pro installation BUT 3-5x the cost and you can’t reapply yourself when the warranty period ends.
Diamon-Fusion
What it is: US-origin CVD (chemical vapour deposition) fluoropolymer. Strong reputation in luxury markets.
Best for: High-end residential projects, often bundled with frameless installations.
Trade-offs: Excellent product, but availability in Malaysia is patchy — usually requires installer who imports it. Lead time can be weeks.
RainX Shower Door + Krudkutter
What they are: Spray-on silane coatings. Available at Mr DIY, Tesco, ACE Hardware. Cheap (RM 25-35) and easy.
Best for: Quick fix for a rental, guest bathroom, or while you decide on a permanent solution. Bottle lasts 6-8 weeks if you reapply weekly.
Trade-offs: Short lifespan means you’re recoating monthly or quarterly. Over a year, the total cost can exceed EnduroShield. Doesn’t protect against deep mineral etching the way fluoropolymer does.
Generic Shopee “nano coatings”
What they are: Wide range of unbranded or off-brand products. Some are decent silane formulas. Some are basically glycerin with marketing.
Best for: Honestly — lottery. Some are surprisingly good for the price. Most are short-lived.
How to evaluate: Look at the bottle label. If it lists ingredients (silane, fluoropolymer, specific %), it’s probably legitimate. If it’s only marketing claims (“nano-tech!”, “ultimate protection!”), assume short lifespan and budget accordingly.
How to choose for your situation
You just installed new frameless glass (less than 30 days): EnduroShield. This is the moment when fluoropolymer chemistry has the cleanest substrate to bond to. Best results.
Your glass is 6 months to 2 years old, looking OK: EnduroShield after a thorough vinegar clean. Still get good bond.
Your glass is etched already: Polish first (cerium oxide kit RM 80-150 or pro polish RM 500-1,200), then coat. Otherwise the coating bonds to haze, not glass.
Rental property, you’re the landlord: EnduroShield once, then tenants maintain. The 3-year lifespan covers most tenancy turnovers.
Rental, you’re the tenant: RainX Shower Door spray. RM 35, reapply quarterly. Don’t invest the EnduroShield kit cost in a property you don’t own.
Commercial (hotel, gym): Professional ClearShield or Diamon-Fusion with installer. The cost is amortised across thousands of uses.

Is one brand objectively the best?
No. The right answer depends on your bathroom, your budget, and how long you plan to stay in that home. Fluoropolymer-silica hybrid (EnduroShield, ClearShield, Diamon-Fusion) is the best chemistry family for shower glass. Within that family, DIY vs pro and price are the real decision factors.
Why is EnduroShield cheaper than ClearShield if they’re both fluoropolymer?
Different application model. ClearShield requires professional installation, which includes labour. EnduroShield is sold as a DIY kit — you provide the labour. Same chemistry family, different go-to-market.
Can I apply two different coatings to compare?
Not on the same panel. Coatings bond to glass, not to each other. If you apply one then add another, the second just sits on top of the first and washes off. You’d need to test on different panels of similar glass for a fair comparison.
What if I just keep using the spray-on coatings (RainX, Krudkutter) instead of buying a long-life product?
Maths over 3 years: RainX bottle RM 35, reapply 6x a year = RM 210/year = RM 630 over 3 years. EnduroShield RM 218 once = RM 218 over 3 years (plus daily squeegee). Long-life is cheaper if you stay 3+ years. Spray-on is cheaper if you’re moving in <1 year.
